Greater Painted Snipe pair (displaying male)......... record shot long distance ..... Basai , Haryana , 8th May 2014
Initially we thought it to be the courtship display of the male ...... but eventually it looked more like ... aggression towards the emerging Common Moorhen in the fore. The moorhen quickly adjusted its course away to the left .
Well ....the female did not look to be interested in the proceedings and went on sweeping and probing with its bill without urgency.
