(delhibirdpix) Srilanka Bay owl on its day perch at Kulathupuzha reserve forests,Kerala

Sri Lanka Bay Owl-Phodilus assimilis on its day perch
An owl seen in dense evergreen forest.Mostly seen in lowland evergreen forests and thick secondary forests associated with Myrstica swamps.
An unforgettable moment in my bird watching trail. This is first time I had an opportunity to watch this bird in close encounter. It was perching on a small tree fully covered with dry leaves and twigs. It moves as a dry leaf when windblown. Really an unforgettable experience.I am grateful to my friends Prem Krishnan B V and Akhil S Muralidharan for their field support and encouragement.
Location : Kulathupuzha Reserve Forests,Kerala,India
