(delhibirdpix) Black-throated Parrotbill

That Tiny Gem from the Hills--

During my Arunachal trip last year in October-- this bird was high on my wishlist, but I coudnt get even a glimpse of this elusive bird- inspite of our repeated searches in the probable areas of the Mishmi hills and Dibang valley.

At last, I got this tiny beauty in my own state in the wilderness of Neora Valley. It was certainly a moment of joy and great excitement. I am grateful to birder friend Surya Ramachandran for showing me this beautifullifer. It was very difficult to get a decent shot of this bird as it moves extremely fast through the bamboo thickets like bullets. Fortunately I could capture few frames before they vanished into the unknown.

Species: Black-throated Parrotbill
Neora Valley National Park.
West Bengal.
