(delhibirdpix) The Commoners - # 44.119 - Sarus Crane (Grus antigone) - 2014-305

Learnt this morning a surprising fact about Sarus Crane - that a two day old hatchling could swim !!!

Had not heard nor read about in any of the literature about Cranes Swimming let alone a two day hatchling

doing so.  A Specific Net Search did show up a few statements that the Cranes can swim though do not

have web feet but the chicks can nicely (as seen this morning)
