Of all the sea birds diving for fish, the Lesser Crested Terns were the swiftest, most of the times beating hollow the Brown and Black-headed Gulls and Little and Common Terns. The skuas however preferred to let the other birds find the food and they would chase them till the fish dropped from their beaks and was expertly picked up by these skua pirates !
-- This two day trip to Akshi was organised by DCP (Dr Caeser Photography), Bombay and I joined a small group of enthusiastic bird photographers ably led by Parag Damle. Two days well spent, though the sighting of Sooty and Sandwich Terns would have been great for me.
