(delhibirdpix) Highlights of birding at Basai , Ghalibpur , Nazafgarh and adjacent areas ..... in Delhi outskirts on the 28th Nov , 2014.

Had a good hot days birding  with Pankaj Gupta ..... at Basai and the route to Nazafgarh which provided some good sightings including a Hen Harrier hunting around the Ghalibpur area near Sultanpur.

Apart from the regulars .... the highlights being ( not exactly in the order of sighting )

Ruddy breasted Crake

Bluethroat (s)

Moustached Warbler

Paddy-field Warbler

Citrine Wagtail ( various stages )

Flocks of Yellow Wagtails ( various plumages )

Greater Spotted Eagle (juv)

Long-legged Buzzard

Hen Harrier

Eurasian Marsh Harrier

Booted Eagle

Ruddy Shelducks ... huge flock

Bar-headed Geese ... huge flock

Greylag Geese .... huge flock

White-Tailed Lapwing (s)

Pair of Sarus Crane

Common Snipes .... good number

Yellow-bellied Prinia

Plain Prinia
