[BirdPhotoIndia] Pied Falconets

Over half an hour we observed these beautiful falconets. The first half of this little drama had a lone male ( my conclusion of its gender is based on its subsequent activity) sitting on this bare tree, changing its perch a couple of times. Then flew in the female. Shortly after, the male left and returned with a huge yellow leaf which he seemed to be giving a shape to by tearing off pieces from it. Then he flew up to the female and offered it, pushing the leaf under her claws. She looked a bit flustered and sat with the offering for a while and then let go of it. Rejection ? Maybe. She flew away and the male flew to the leaf that had landed and got stuck on a branch. I may have imagined its forlorn look as it sat, perhaps planning what to do next !
