(delhibirdpix) Francolin Grey III

Date : 17 May 15
Location : Jhajjar Area Haryana
Camera Camera D800. Lens Nikon 500 mm, VR.

Common Name : Grey Francolin
Scientific Name : Francolinus pondicerianus  GALLIFORMES: Phasianidae

Remarks : The visit to Jhajar Area-I will call it the Francolin Black Area. WE had  what I will call the most wonderful trip. We say three pairs of Black Francolin. These pairs would come out of the bush and start feeding on the flat grass field, giving us a excellent view
Of the pair out in the open. The trip was also rewarded with the sight of the female trouping down with 7 chicks in tow. Having seen the Black and satisfied with the photo op given by them-the pairs did not seem to be bothered with our presence and ignored us.
I turned the car to check the other side of the area and wow in the middle of the track was the pair of Grey Francolin. I saw the pair when just 15 to 20 feet (approx) . They did not move-with the expression “how about our photos” Out came the camera and the next 2 min the pair jaust sat in front of the car. Then one slowly moved of the track followed by the second. The image is from the first few taken with both waiting on the track
